If you have been along to our forum recently you will already know that the new Napoleonic rules – Black Powder – has been causing quite a stir. In fact it has started a Napoleonic buying frenzy!! Click Read More below to continue...
One of our Veterans down at the club, Phil, received one of the first prints of the new book. After posting a few little titbits, it wasn’t long before a mass of the club’s long standing membership paid visits to their favourite online web stores and purchased their own little empires of nap figures! The most popular being Victrix and Perry Plastics. Both are 28mm scale (in plastic of course) and come in large boxsets making incredible value for money for those like us starting out. A few of our members are setting up blogs here on the website for others to follow their progress and give motivation and support on what is surely to be a long undertaking. There are many different rule sets for miniature wargaming in the Napoleonic era – some of which the club are looking into. Like Generale de Brigade and The March of Eagles – a simple yet effective free rule set provided with every boxset of Victrix miniatures. Another new system has just come to market from the guys over at the The League of Ausberg titled: Republic to Empire. There so many I could go on all day, but suffice to say we’ve narrowed it down to a handful to try in our club. It won’t be long before we single out a ‘best of breed’ which we will report on in our blog. Black Powder is the new kid on the block from Warlord Games and is designed for large scale games in the era of gunpowder and muskets in 28mm with many hundreds of miniatures per side. Take a look for yourself, but don’t forget to come back and follow the blogs of our members on their journeys into the realms Napoleonic wargaming! We hope to see you again soon… www.victrixlimited.com http://www.perry-miniatures.com www.warlordgames.co.uk |
