Week Three has flown by, so how I am doing against my objectives? Let’s just have a look at what they were. What I wanted to achieve Last Week:
1. Complete the assembly of the second box set. Done these are sitting on a board waiting to be undercoated this week.
2. Paint at least 8 of the already assembled highlanders, and ideally get these based and varnished. Started, Base coated flesh, kilt and jacket. However still some work to be done here! With the prospect of not a lot getting done this week.
3. Paint the 4 Models representing the Rifle Company. With the rest of the second box set awaiting undercoating.
4. Start organising the game/s between Christmas and New Year.
Started, we are going for the 30th December; exact numbers are a bit woolly at the moment! Probably going for Black Powder Rule set as it’s the one that most of us have!
So two achieved and two failed, I will carry over the two failed objectives to this week i.e.
Paint at least 8 Highlanders and paint 4 Rifle company.
I am reasonably confident that the Highlanders and the Rifle companies’ uniforms will be accurate; however the 71st Highland Light Infantry and the 50th Foot will need a bit more research. So this will be my third objective this week. I am particularly interested in the style of Shako that the 71st would have worn in the Peninsular.
That's it for this week I am off to paint a bit more. |
